Welcome!

Welcome to Norwalk, OH.

Just 5 minutes south of the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90), Norwalk is positioned in the heart of north central Ohio. The city is one hour's drive from both Toledo and Cleveland, and is just two hours north of Columbus for easy day trips.

Norwalk is:

Beautifully Historic

Established in 1817, Norwalk boasts the “most architecturally-diverse historic district in the State of Ohio.” From the beautifully renovated homes on West Main Street to the historic uptown area, the City is steeped in tradition.

The Maple City
Today’s beautiful tree-lined streets are a tribute to the City’s founder Platt Benedict who planted maple trees along Main Street in 1830.

A Community of Neighbors
Norwalk is a front porch community, where neighbors know each other by name and stop to visit on a warm spring day. Our people are involved, volunteering for city projects and coaching little league.

A Kids’ Place
From it's two excellent school systems to our many parks and first-rate recreational programs and facilities, Norwalk is a great place to raise a family.
